Flight Path Director
The FPD symbol appears when a flight director button is selected on and the HDG-V/S/TRK-FPA button is selected to TRKFPA.
The FPD is a fully functioning flight director system which uses a single command bar to indicate desired FPA and bank. The FPD is designed specifically for use with the FPV.
FPD VERTICAL MODE - To comply with FPD commands, the pilot always flies the FPV to the FPD. Pitch up or down to fly the FPV circle over the FPD circle, and roll to put the FPV wings on top of (same bank angle as) the FPD wings. The FPD commands all vertical modes the conventional flight director can except vertical speed. Instead of vertical speed, it commands flight path angle.
